French AMX 10-P Amphibious Infantry Fighting Vehicle. Precision 1:50 scale. This diecast model, made in France, has the usual super detail of Solido. The rear ramp and lid of the front compartment open on the model. This model in desert tan is BRAND NEW in box and comes with an information card and decals of Arab markings you can apply to the vehicle. Solido produced it for only a short period in 1996. Because of this short production run, Solido lists it as a limited edition and is VERY SCARCE today. Solido no. 2163.

The AMX-10P, which replaced the AMX-VCI, was produced for over 20 years from 1972 to 1994. Loosely refered to as a tank, rhe AMX-10P is fully amphibious, being propelled through water at speeds of up to 7 km/hr by twin waterjets. It is also fitted as standard with a trim vane and bilge pumps to assist with the flotation process. The troop compartment is at the rear of the hull and provided with two roof hatches. Passengers embark and debark from a ramp, which is accessed through two doors at the rear. AMX-10Ps were popular with a number of Arab armies and have been operated by Iraq, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Morocco, and the United Arab Emirates, as well as Argentina, Cambodia, Equador, Singapore, Indonesia, Israel, Lebanon, Peru, Bosnia-Herzegovina, and the Dominican Republic.
