Bedford MK Truck with 25lb Gun. The truck is 6" long and the gun is 5" long, which makes it a rather weird 1:42 scale, although Corgi specifies it as 1:50 scale. Go figure. This is a Corgi Limited Edition and is no. 1,394 of 5,900 produced. Includes outside rear view mirror (not mounted) and Corgi dog. Absolutely MINT IN BOX, Corgi no. 69902.

Markings are for the British Army, 1st Battalion, Royal Green Jackets. Truck is the militaty equivalent of the successful Bedford TK series. Initially rated at 4 tons, it was eventually upgraded to 5 tons. Designated as the FV13800 series, thousands of these trucks were purchased in the 1960s and 1970s and remain in use today. This particular model is the FV13801/13802 cargo truck fitted with a steel body and high canvas back.

The "25-pounder" gun was introduced in 1938 and was the British Army's standard field artillery piece for some 30 years. The gun was fitted to the 2-wheel Mk3 carriage. Caliber was 87.6mm and standard ammunition included smoke, armor-piercing, and high-explosive projectiles.
