Great Britain 2005 five-pound (Ł5) silver proof coin, weight: 28.28 Grams, diameter: 38.61mm, composition 0.925 fine silver (0.922 oz asw). In 2005, to commemorate the 200th anniversary of the Battle of Trafalgar, the UK Royal Mint struck a limited issue silver proof Ł5 (five-pound) Crown coin. The obverse design is a stunning portrait of Queen Elizabeth II designed by Ian Rank Broadley. There were two designs for the reverse, the more common one of Horatio Nelson by James Butler, and this design by Clive Duncan of two Royal Navy ships, Victory and Temeraine in battle as viewed from the French Fleet surrounded by inscription TRAFALGAR and the dates 1805 and 2005. These legal tender coins were struck to proof quality using specially prepared dies and highly polished blanks.

At the current price of silver ($29.61 per ounce), the silver value of this coin is $27.32. I have seen some listed on eBay for close to the face value of 5 pounds, which is a stunning 360% discount on the value of the silver in the coin. Other sellers have the coin realistically priced at about $35, while still others have the coin ridiculously priced at $75 or more. Rather bizarre if you ask me.
