Russian Space Stamp Album, 1974 to 1981
Russian Space Stamp Album, 1974 to 1981
This is an absolutely sensational stamp album from Russia produced in 1981 at the peak of the space race. I bought this album in Moscow, USSR and as far as I can determine it has never been commercially sold in the US (although, of course, most of the stamps have been available individually). The album has 10 pages plus an outside cover all in protective plastic sleeves. It contains all 100 stamps and 2 souvenir sheets issued by Russia between 1974 and 1981 related to space exploration, rockets, and astronauts. As is typical with most Russian stamps, all of them are neatly cancelled to order (CTO). The album "cover" is actually a colorful envelope that contained the 10 album pages. I am selling this spectacular and rare album at the giveaway price of $20.00, which is WAY under its catalog value.

I also have a large quantity of additional Eastern Bloc space-related material from the 70s and 80s as well as some from the Arab Trucial states and other nations that issue stamps at the drop of a hat. However, along with the garbage is some very nice material from Poland, Czechoslovakia, and Romania plus some spectacular Russian covers from the mid-70s. I'd like to sell all of it all as one large 1970s space-related collection. E-mail me at SwapMeetDave@aol.com if you're interested.
