Targeting Model, Soviet BTR-60 PB, 1:20. This is a large scale (1:20, 14.6" long) model of the BTR-60 PB, the final vehicle in a series of Soviet eight-wheeled armored personnel carriers (APCs). The original BTR-60 was developed in the late 1950s as a replacement for the BTR-152 and was seen in public for the first time in 1961. The much inproved BTR-60 PB was produced in 1966 and remained in production until 1976. BTR stands for Bronetransporter, literally "armoured transporter."

The model is made from a heavy, hard, molded plastic with a sheet metal bottom. It is finished in dark green and weighs a hefty 4 pounds. Pressed into the metal bottom is the following text, "BTR-60 PB, 1:20, 6910-12-183-5358 BUND." It was made for the German Army in the early 70s as a targeting model. It has an eye hook screwed into the front and rear for a thin cord (like a fish line) to drag the model in front of a lighted background to teach gunners to recognize its silhouette. It is a little dusty, but otherwise in perfect condition. There are six Soviet models in the set representing the 1970s Soviet inventory. These are very scarce today and typically sell in Europe for 30 to 50 euros each.

Packing and shipping is based on a weight of 4 pounds and is only my out-of-pocket cost. I pack and ship the same day payment is received. I'm not like some Internet sellers who build big profits into shipping and screw the buyer.
