Zap Comix #3 ~ 1968 ~ 7.5 VF- ~ Apex Novelties. My grading is very conservative and most sellers would grade this higher. Bright colors; binding good; b&w interior perfect. This issue has two front covers (front and back), one of which has more wrinkles than the other; stress at binding edge; otherwise a VF+ copy. Issue in 2-mil archival poly bag with stiffener. Image shows the actual comic you will get (it is NOT a stock photo).

Issue highlights: 50¢ cover price. Rick Griffin cover. Art and stories by Griffin, Robert Crumb, Victor Moscoso, S. Clay Wilson, and a Wonder Warthog story by Gilbert Shelton. 2nd printing (regular weight cover, not 70# heavy stock, which is only on the 1st printing). Comics Price Guide cat no 3A.

Be warned, there is a HUGE difference in the value of Zap #3 between the 50¢ cover price issues (1st and 2nd printing) printed by Apex Novelties and later (3rd to 8th) 75¢ to $4.95 printings. Don't be misled -- most eBay and on-line listings DO NOT give you the information you need to make an informed buying decision!
